WE KNOW THE CHARM
I'm Maria Cristina, owner of “Il Fascino del Vintage”.
I would like to tell you a little about me and my "fascinating" world !! Let's start with the origin of the name I chose ..
Looking at old photos of Hollywood divas, have you never thought that that little black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn would have been enough for you to acquire at least a pinch of her charm, her elegance?
Or, browsing through old family memory albums, have you never seen your grandmother or mother wearing those hats with veils or carrying a delicious vintage beaded handbag on her arm or even finding old handkerchiefs and kits from those grandmothers in the drawers. fresh and timeless hand-embroidered fabrics?
Well yes, when we wear a little black dress like Audrey Hepburn, a pearl necklace like Chanel, etc ... we wear a story, a style that makes us unique and
allows you to relive past times; even photo frames of yesteryear, tea cups, embroidered kits stimulate us to fantasize about who they belonged to before, because the smell of antiquity acts like a real time machine: going back in time means
say to imagine the history of the object in question .. and to be indisputably attracted by the "Charm of Vintage" !!!!
But "The charm of vintage" does not only include articles from other times, but the fascination for "the beauty of things" because "Beauty is seen, charm is felt". (Roberto Gervaso)
Now that you know the origin of the name I'll tell you a little about me. My page was born in 2014, but my passion for the world of vintage was born many years earlier, wandering around the antique markets. Until one fine day about 7 years ago, almost for fun and driven by the boredom of the Sunday routine, I started with my partner to participate in the market of our
town, Biella, in Piedmont ... I had a small cushion of vintage brooches in a bright pink color ...
At the time I started importing vintage bijoux exclusively from England until I was fascinated by vintage American brooches and, after a few months spent chatting with some US suppliers, I made my agreement in particular with two or three of them , from which I still refuel on a monthly basis.
My passion developed when I signed up to Facebook to resume relations with an old friend (as children we were called "best friends") and so, after discovering the variety of interests that this platform offered, I decided to open my page "The charm of vintage and American bijoux" now "The charm of vintage" to share my few treasures.
At the time, I was still working in a notary's office; I still did not know what I wanted from my future work or rather, probably unconsciously, I was aware of it because my every thought was always and in any case aimed at cultivating you, who slowly began to assert itself, unconscious of the fact that my passion would inevitably be transformed in my current job.
To you, in whom I have always believed firmly from the beginning with perseverance and devotion, I say THANK YOU because she has always been an excellent relief valve in sad moments; thanks to you I found myself, mixing my interests at work and filling my life with stimuli and emotions.
My heartfelt THANKS go to my customers who, with undisputed constancy and believing in me, have allowed me to get here, making the search for
my treasures every day more and more exciting and making one of the dreams of my life come true.
